It’s been a couple of years since we were On Our Adventure in our 24-foot travel trailer. Other adventurous friends are having great experiences since the covid craziness settled down, so we’re trying it again. We headed east from Loveland on August 23rd.
Light traffic. Good weather. Saw covid mask here or there, but… So far… so Good!
First day we keep the driving brief and easy. (Actually, we try to keep every day brief and easy!)
Travel to Julesburg, Colorado, stop for the night just before entering Nebraska.
Next day we visit the local Visitor’s Center. Learned that Julesburg moved four times! And the Pony Express played a key role in the town’s history. We enjoy learning at the local Visitors Center about the town’s founders, Julesburg’s colorful history, and how the Pony Express contributed to the town.

We typically phone ahead for where to stay. Glad we did. Not sure we would have turned in here otherwise! The RV Park owner was very nice, and the overnight stay worked out quite well for us.

Francis treated us to a short video about “The Honor Flight”. If you’re a vet (or know a vet) and haven’t been part of the “Honor Flight”, get involved! It’s a tribute of honor to all the men and women who risked it all in war to keep this country safe.
.
Boys Town is a tribute to how one person who saw young people in dire situations, cared about those young people, and knew they could turn their lives around with proper love and guidance. His concentrated efforts plus the efforts of other people since the early 1900’s still help young people transform their lives into positive, enriching lives. Boys Town is well worth visiting and supporting.
