Food Pantry in Willis, TX, needs help moving canned goods and shelving to prep for painting. We show up Monday morning with gloves in hand. Doesn’t take long with plenty of help. And a lot of fun.
Luau time!
Night-time at Lake Livingston State Park is warm, 78 degrees, and pitch dark with plenty of stars thru all the trees. Tree frogs, thumbnail size, croak en masse all night long.
Strangest bugs in Texas. A wasp carrying a caterpillar. Inch-long bugs that look like grass. Ants that come from seemingly nowhere, and bite bite bite. Ow.
Friends Jeb and Lori arrive during pitch black of night. Help them back their RV into the tight, wooded RV spot. Fun for those of us already setup, maybe not so much fun for them! But they do a great job, and not a scratch to be found.
Neighbors Nole and Kathy (and family) have a great day fishing, catching twenty. We appreciate their generosity giving us four wonderful, freshly caught, striped bass. Sherry adds just the right spices, cooks the fish to perfection, and we enjoy a dinner better than in a five star restaurant.
Bicycle ride thru the park. Walk along the path thru the woods and lake.
Enjoy an ice cream social. Dance with live band at our RV Park. Swim. Help judge the Fourth of July most decorated golf cart contest. BBQ with Terry and Karen and their family and friends. Plenty of fireworks and music. A truly memorable Fourth of July celebration in Texas!
Church at Covenant Fellowship. Visit with Frank and Linda at their home, enjoying ice tea on their shady front porch on a warm afternoon. Win at Texas Hold ‘em!
Visit the Huntsville Prison Museum. No air conditioning in the prison. The inmates here do hard time.
Summer in Texas is “gettin’ a might warm, ya’ll.” See you next time – On Our Adventure!
