Turns out Texas can get mighty cold and snowy in the winter. Hunkered down for a couple of days in Fort Stockton, TX, while the storm passed thru.
When it all settled out, we continued on the road again, enjoying beautiful snow covered Texas landscapes and distant hills with clear blue sunshine skies.
Heading toward our destination of Tucson, got word Sherry’s Aunt Helen passed away. Accelerated our pace a bit to make it to California in time for the funeral. Along the way, gathered up Sherry’s parents, one of her brothers, her cousin Mike and Belinda, and we all car pooled from Arizona to the funeral in California. In spite of the sad reason for family get-togethers, funerals are a great time to reconnect. Most everyone left the day after the funeral, and we stayed another day.
Leaving California, time to retrace (back) to Tucson. But first, let’s stop near the Salton Sea to visit good friends Troy and Ada (and their dog Butch – who has a personality that makes us laugh and laugh). We love fresh dates from Southern California, and we definitely got our fill. Passed thru Yuma, stopped at Rooster Cogburn’s Ostrich Farm southeast of Phoenix to buy an ostrich egg for breakfast, finally arrive in Tucson.
Son Joe flew in from Colorado to help celebrate Bev’s 85th birthday. Always a wonderful time visiting with him.
Casinos and RV parks in Arizona and California have plenty of “tribute” bands, at way lower prices than the real bands. Lot of fun at an Abba (Mama Mia) tribute band concert.
Parked our trailer in Bev and Gene’sdriveway, hooked up our water and electric, and hanging out here for the winter. Never a dull moment. Sherry’s brother Terry is here “for a while”, square and round dancing, playing guitar, and making us all laugh. Victory Worship Center is a great church in Tucson for praise and worship, plus excellent preaching. Take care of a little maintenance on the trailer while we’re hanging out, playing cards, playing guitar, bicycle riding, and having a great time.
Keep loving and laughing. See you next time On Our Adventure!
