Weeks 75-78: Eastbound and Down, Loaded Up and Truckin… (Sep 7-27, 2014)

Sherry loves horses!

Sherry loves horses!

We are in Ohio now. The trek here has been a ton of fun. August was a terrific month in Colorado for us. Time allowed us to visit many friends, although not all, and never as long as we would like.

Head east from Colorado, staying on Hwy 34 to Chicago. Two lane roads are more relaxing to us, provide a lot of scenery, and opportunities to meet new friends. Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois grow more corn than we knew existed! See plenty of wind turbine farms these days, too.

Quite exciting to watch Sherry’s brother Gary and his wife Geralyn wear their formal riding attire while riding horses during their fox hunt. Great time visiting with their family in Illinois.

Jack and Mae in Indiana are great fun, play cards, and laugh heartily. Into Ohio, search the internet and talk with neighbors to eventually find Bob’s college buddy Pete. Great time bicycling and reminiscing on years gone by.

Continue search for other relatives as we travel. Locate gravesite of Bob’s dad Wilbur, and learn more about his family tree.

Hope to see Niagara Falls (oops, heading north again as winter approaches), before heading east and south for warmer weather. Looks like we may finally experience those famous, beautiful fall colors of northeast United States.

Wheeeeee !

Wheeeeee !
