Wrapped up the weekend at Perris Skydiving Center, and return to Andy and Carolyn’s vineyard in Ramona, CA.
Need groceries, so we stop at a grocery store we are not familiar with. As soon as we walked into Vallarta SuperMarket, we knew something was different. All Hispanic speaking, signs in Spanish, and foods from Mexico we don’t see in the grocery stores we typically frequent. Fascinating adventure shopping there. Bought a delicious, mild cheese that every woman in the store was in line to buy. Yummmmm.
The trailer has a few minor fixes that need done, so we take care of them. Wednesday nights in Ramona are a special treat, enjoying sushi with Sherry, Tim, Ellen, Andy, and Carolyn at Da Tuna Restaurant in Ramona. Afterwards, we join Tim and Ellen in their fifth wheel for a little Wii bowling and golf. That night we receive the only rain we get during our stay in Ramona. Continue enjoying great meats from Bisher’s butcher shop. Did I say Bisher’s has the BEST meats? Be sure to talk with Dan, one of the owners.
Finish the week wine tasting with Carolyn, Tim, Ellen, Dave, Karen, Sherry. Started at Steve and Marilyn’s Hoof and Roses winery.
From Steve and Marilyn’s tasting room we watched the start of a 40 acre brush fire in Ramona. Ground crews and airplanes with fire retardant quickly put the fire out. Rather close, only a few miles away. Steve and Marilyn really appreciate all Carolyn has done for the vineyard industry.
Next wine tasting location is Cardiano winery. Met Frank, the owner’s son. Frank and his family really appreciate all Carolyn has done for the vineyard industry.
Next tasting at Mike Kohill winery. Mike and Carolyn are great friends.
Last tasting for today is at Beth and Victor’s winery. Beth is very appreciative of all Carolyn has done, and all the help Tim and Andy gave them last year. I’m impressed by everyone’s appreciation for what Carolyn has done in this wine industry in Ramona.
Back at The Point, Sherry and Ellen put together another impressive meal using small leftovers. Somehow they create a meal that feeds all of us in exquisite fashion. The way Sherry and Ellen pull together these great meals from very little makes me feel like we are re-living Jesus and the 5000, feeding everyone with only seven loaves and fishes – and having food left over! It’s been another full week on our adventure.
